Description of Structure Paintings 2015 by Gretchen Dow Simpson
The paintings are 18" x 22" each , oil on linen, except for the first two which are oil on board. From those images, Structure Prints 2015 were formed from an original printing of ten numbered books containing ten archival prints from the paintings. This body of work was the result of an emotional disturbance in my life.
The book images were reproduced by Ted Pfeffer of ioLabs as Archival Ultrachrome Prints on Cotton Rag Paper from the original paintings. These were Mounted to 2 Ply natural Museum Board by the master bookbinder Jim DiMarcantonio of Hope Bindery who also made the according book and box.
This work of art can be opened as a traditional book of images or unfolded like an accordian.
